Opportunity:
Employers are fed up with the pervasive entitlement attitudes of a new generation of employees. Business school students and recent graduates are questioning their own motivations, feeling themselves on less certain ground now that dreams of instant wealth are vaporizing in the tumult of economic and industry shake-ups. Real leadership in business is at an all-time low with greater CEO turnover today than ever.
A dynamic keynote speaker and popular lecturer, respected educator, successful quality management consultant, and author, Scott W. Ventrella offers a message that is equal parts philosophy, psychology and spirituality. Working through insights into the mind-set of the individual and the organization, Ventrella shifts personal Hindrances and limitations enabling business managers, employees and students alike to develop a spiritually-centered approach to business and life.
Programs/Topics:
Ten Essential Traits of Positive Thinking- Ventrella shows how Peale's practical yet powerful concepts are applicable to businesspeople at all levels, disciplines, and functions within an organization, and have been adapted to appeal to people of all faiths. The traits emphasize objective, rational thinking instead of self-limiting beliefs and negative self-talk. Together, rational thinking and the ten traits of a positive thinker can turn defeatist behavior into productive actions that will overcome the toughest challenges with powerful, positive results. Ventrella shows how these traits naturally fall into four distinct groups: centering power, uplifting power, driving power, and holding power. He also offers exercises participants will use to assess their strengths and weaknesses along with tips for enhancing particular traits.
Personal Quality Plan- In this program, Ventrella guides participants to develop a highly individualized personal quality plan for the long haul based on participants' attitudes, faith, beliefs, and goals in their life. This program comes out of a business course Ventrella offers at Fordham University's Graduate School of Business and enables participants to define their personal and professional expectations and better judge their fit with prospective employers. In addition, Ventrella conducts exercises demonstrating how the Ten Traits can help participants put these plans into action.
Getting to the Source of Negative Thinking- Ventrella works with participants on specific business/managerial problems to get at the source of self-limiting beliefs and negative thinking. Ventrella debunks the most common self-limiting beliefs and offers exercises for breaking the cycle of destructive thoughts that stymie solutions.
Setting Positive Business Goals, Affirmations and Visualization- In this program, Ventrella aids participants in the art of goal attainment, including mastering the power of a well-written goal, using the SMART criteria to set goals, and tips for visualizing success.
