Veteran
team Deemer and Fredericks have spent years working with women in
groups and individually to map out a customized trajectory to the
top. Their seminars help executives address barriers that undercut
productivity, success, and advancement in the workplace.
Recognizing
that some barriers are “fixed,” “A Woman’s
Way of Leadership” focuses on what is “fixable.”
Typically, men and women have a different mix of strengths and weaknesses;
this professional course is designed to help women correct their weaknesses
and fully leverage their feminine-based strengths.
The
insights gathered from their own highly successful 20-year careers
in corporate America, as well as their seminars and consulting practice,
led Deemer and Fredericks to write Dancing On The Glass Ceiling. It
is a powerful transformational guide for women who are dead-ended
in the corporate culture. Filled with shrewd observations and keen
analysis, Dancing On The Glass Ceiling includes a plethora of innovative
exercises designed to unlock new patterns of successful behavior.
One insight the authors make, for instance, is that women, unlike
men, often “move away from” things they disliked in the
past rather than “moving towards” the more powerful, positive
goals that will give them true joy and satisfaction. Women also have
a difficult time supporting a boss they don’t respect –
a difference in attitude that sidelines careers. Reading this book,
or taking part in their professional courses, literally can transform
a career from ordinary to outstanding.
Participants
in “A Woman’s Way of Leadership” consistently report
at four results:
-
Expanded roles/responsibilities—and major promotions—
as they learn to think like “owners” rather than “employees”;
-
Increased productivity, as they grow more comfortable delegating,
leading, and taking risks.
-
Greater effectiveness and power in the organization, as they apply
new behavior patterns to manage key relationships, and become comfortable
exercising their full authority.
-
A renewed sense of joy and purpose, as they learn to look at their
jobs—and themselves—from entirely new perspectives.
“A
Woman’s Way of Leadership” is available to both corporate
groups and individual executives.
Individual Program: a limited number of women from different companies
are brought together for a collective experience, involving a full-day
workshop and six weekly telephone coaching sessions.
Customized Corporate Program: Executives from the same company are
brought together. Deemer and Fredericks maintain contact with the
company’s Human Resources and Top Management teams, tailoring
the course materials to align with the individual corporation’s
values, culture, and leadership styles. Specialized Enrichment Modules
(time management, conflict resolution, networking, etc.) can also
be added, to meet the needs of the Client Company.
In
addition to “A Woman’s Way of Leadership,” Deemer
and Fredericks offer customized development programs, executive one-on-one
coaching, and a variety of diagnostic tools to assess performance
challenges for both individuals and the overall organization.
Here’s
what participants in “A Woman’s Way of Leadership”
had to say:
“My
recent participation in “A Woman’s Way of Leadership”
was a worthwhile experience and one I would recommend to any young
executive…after each session I found myself reflecting on the
comments made in the reading material, homework, and group discussions.
This self-reflection and identification of areas of weakness motivated
me to want to be a more effective leader. The strategies outlined
for self-improvement are useful and I am attempting to integrate them
into my leadership style.
- Senior Medical Director, Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Company
“There
are lots of management and personal development workshops on the market,
but what makes “A Woman’s Way of Leadership” unique
is that it provides not only tools and inspiration for one’s
personal development, but also generates a supportive system to help
participants grow. The program is unique in its focus and its methodology.
- Senior Human Resources Executive, Fortune 500 Manufacturing Company
“A
Woman’s Way of Leadership” was, for me, both good news
and bad news. By that, I mean that I wish I’d had the information
when I began my professional career some 20+ years ago. If I had,
I could have avoided some major problems encountered when trying to
figure out how to work most effectively with my male peers and superiors.
Specifically, I loved the information about how women often sabotage
their careers by being too detail-oriented, too focused on ‘tasks’
to the detriment of seeing the big picture.
- Entrepreneur/Business Owner
“The
seminar cast a whole new perspective on my career and how I can be
more effective. The seminar provided me with the opportunity to do
some real soul-searching on what makes me tick and how to improve
the way I tick. Specifically in the areas of time management, networking,
and the most important for me – the mental blocks I am putting
in the way of taking the next step up! This seminar helped me understand
the blocks and get to the root of them. Nancy and Candy spoke the
truth with no sugarcoating and provided some great real examples to
help the light bulbs go on.
- Director of Sales Operations, Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Company
“The
seminar has had an incredibly positive influence on me….I’ve
taken an unprecedented opportunity to step back and look at myself.
I’ve come to realize that I am in control of my own career path,
and that I can do many things to promote myself within the company.
More importantly, I’ve realized that I do need to coach myself.
I credit this change to Candy and Nancy, who have given me the tools
to coach myself to the top.
- Corporate Counsel, Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Company
“A
Woman’s Way of Leadership” reawakened the ability to look
within. I was reminded time and again throughout the workshop that
I was not alone, that other women just like me shared the same challenges,
fears, and strengths. We forget, as women, to acknowledge our feminine
energy in our business careers, focusing instead on how to be like
our male counterparts. This limits our ability to leverage who we
really are and what we can offer. Nancy Fredericks and Candy Deemer
are the perfect team to shift our perception on feminine leadership
qualities.
